I knew of a family who had a maid to help them with the household chores. Her husband was the watchman of their house and he was very inconsistent in his night duties and sometime didn't even appear for the day-time duties as well. So I asked them, "Why don't you fire him?"
They said, "We can't, else he'll spend more time drinking alcohol and bashing our maid."
