Q. Does the tough 21.1km race distance not deserve a better name than being called a "half-marathon"? There is certainly merit in this as the accomplishment of running of 21.1 km should not be diminished by describing it as "only half" of something else. Running statistics reflect that, worldwide, the largest segment of runners opt for the 21.1 km race distance.
